Spurt Keeps Builders Busy: Commercial Activity Surges in Market

Commercial builders say new and expanding businesses in the Columbia market are keeping them busier than ever. Affordable mortgage rates over the past few years have drawn attention to the boom in new home construction, but a second trend is taking place behind the scenes. Commercial construction in Columbia and on its urban fringe is hustling and bustling, fueled by population growth and a relatively welcoming local economy.
