After receiving court approval for his transportation development district earlier this month, Iowa developer Curtis McDonald yesterday appointed a board to oversee the newly formed political subdivision.
McDonald created the district --- which has the power to levy an extra sales tax of up to 1 percent on all future sales within the 190-acre district --- to pay for road projects surrounding his planned CenterState commercial development at Interstate 70 and Highway 63.
The 7.5 million Vandiver Drive extension and interchange, scheduled to be done in October, would be the first project funded with district revenue.
